We are a group of lesbian athletes and cultural participants raising awareness and funds for attendance at Gay Games and/or Outgames events. (formerly called Women4Montreal). We successfully sent women to the 2002 Gay Games in Sydney, Australia (as Women4Sydney) and the Outgames/ Montreal Rendezvous in 2006 (as Women4Montreal). For the 2006 games we created a bursary program to sponsor women who could not otherwise afford to attend the Games. The program consisted of an international and local bursary. Through our efforts and the tremendous support of those who attend our events we were able to raise enough funds to help sponsor a Russian Women’s Basketball team who without the support would not have been able to attend the games. It truly was a special moment when we got to meet this amazing group of women (6 players and a coach) at the Outgames in Montreal. They never thought it would be possible, and without our supporters it wouldn’t have been! In addition to the international bursary, two local bursaries were also awarded to help two local women in their quest to attend the games. Thanks again everyone! Now our efforts are towards the next games in 2008 & 2009. We also throw Toronto's most fabulous dyke dance for Pride - the date this year is Friday, June 22nd, 2007, come “party in the boudoir” at the Opera House!
